On a high platform overlooking the Saint John River, a sacrifice was made to the Bunion Goddess and this blog arose. I was recovering from the surgical removal of bunions on both my feet. I spent the best part of the autumn sitting on our raised deck soaking up the autumn sun and watching the southward migration of ducks and geese, while I posted my reflections on Facebook. My husband, Bill, an inveterate pun-lover, came up with the title for this blog, in homage to the Bunion Goddess. It was she who had blessed me with rapid healing, glorious autumn weather, and the gifts of time and stillness.
